Our Friday night social gatherings continue to grow, with some recent evenings keeping our BBQ Grill Masters very busy.
We sincerely thank our regular Grill Masters for doing a fantastic job meeting the increased demand. Our volunteer bar
and catering crews have also risen enthusiastically to the challenge, helping ensure each evening runs smoothly.
Special thanks also go to those who have contributed their time at working bees to maintain a good supply of wood for the
braziers, which have been well used on these cooler nights.
On 18 August, the Sub-Branch held a commemorative service marking the 60 anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan. We
were pleased to welcome Fraser Coast Mayor George Seymour and Division 5 Councillor Michelle Govers. Quilts of
Valour Australia also made a special presentation in honour of Greg HARRIS, a Vietnam Veteran and our Well-being Officer, who recently passed away.
Quilts of Valour are awarded to Veterans, Service Personnel of the Australian Defence Force and our Allies as well as
immediate family of Veterans and Defence Personnel who have passed. These awards are in recognition of their Service,
Sacrifice and Valour for their country.
